Mrs. Mattie L. Monroe, 72, 3531 Mercer Mill Rd., Elizabethtown, NC died Friday, February 26, 2021 at her residence.

Survivors- five sons, Mark Monroe and Bryan Monroe both of Clarkton, NC, John Monroe of Lumberton, NC, Matthew Monroe of Dublin, NC and Jason Monroe of Georgia, one daughter, Tammy Bolden of Elizabethtown, NC, her siblings, Eddie R. Buie of Harrisburg, Pa, Peggy Davis, Ernest Johnson and Terry Johnson all of Elizabethtown, NC, Sheila Gadsden of Columbia, SC, Billy Ray Rattley of Jacksonville, NC, Julie Rattley, Hilda Faye Thompson and William Rattley all of Chadbourn, NC, Brenda Faye Rattley of Whiteville, NC, Willie Rattley of Cerro Gordo, NC, 18 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Funeral- Thursday, March 4, 2021 at 2:00pm with no more than (50) people present at Willie E. Johnson Memorial Chapel on the facility of Johnson’s Funeral Service, 207 S. Pine St., Elizabethtown, NC.Eulogy by Pastor Arthur Lacewell, Pastor of Rock of Zion Christian Church, Fayetteville, NC.

Burial- New Hope Cemetery, Clarkton, NC (Lisbon Community).

Walk-thru Viewing- Wednesday, March 3, 2021 from 2:00pm-5:00pm at Johnson’s Funeral Service, Elizabethtown, NC. The family will receive friends at the home of Wilson and Tammy Bolden, 1610 Summerhouse St., Elizabethtown, NC.

All attendees are required to wear face masks and practice social distancing.
