Mrs. Ernestine Purdie Johnson, 88, of New York, formerly of Elizabethtown, NC transitioned on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at her residence.

Visitation: the family will receive friends at the home of Mr. Eddie Purdie, 327 Dewitt Gooden Dr., Elizabethtown, NC 28337

Funeral: Monday, June 16, 2025, 11:00am at Willie E. Johnson Memorial Chapel, 207 S. Pine St., Elizabethtown, NC 28337. Eulogy is by Pastor Ollie Maultsby.

Burial: Mt. Olive Church Cemetery

Family: seven daughters, Deborah Smith, Cynthia Hick, Renee Bryant, Lizzette Johnson, Lori Watts, Shareen Johnson, and Indy Johnson of New York; two sons, Lee Ander Johnson of Elizabethtown, NC and Alexander Johnson of New York; one brother, Eddie Purdie of Elizabethtown; and one sister, Bonita Burton of New York
