Mrs. Emma Lee Burden Shipman, 92, 196 Burden Rd., Tar Heel, NC died Monday, April 29, 2024 at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare in Whiteville, NC.

Survivors- two sons, James Shipman(Laura) and William Shipman both of Tar Heel, NC, one sister, Joann Burden of Tar Heel, NC, a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral- Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at 3:00pm at Clark’s Chapel AME Zion Church, 14743 NC Hwy 87 Tar Heel, NC. Eulogy by Rev. Stephanie McArthur Hurst.

Burial- Clark’s Chapel Church Cemetery, Tar Heel, NC.

Viewing- Tuesday, May 7, 2024 from 4:00pm-6:00pm at Johnson’s Funeral Service, Elizabethtown, NC. The family will receive friends from 12:00pm-7:00pm at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Shipman, 3311 Spring Branch Rd., Tar Heel, NC.
