Obituary

Mr. Willie Lee Blanks, 68, 1266 Microwave Tower Rd., Council, NC died Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at Bladen East Health and Rehab, Elizabethtown, NC.

Survivors- one daughter, Yolonda Atkinson(Eric) of Jacksonville, Fl., three sisters, Mary Ruth Brown, Cora Lesane and Lula Shaw, four brothers, Samuel Blanks, Sidney Blanks, Ken Blanks(Parthenia) and John Blanks(Vivian), one grandson, Eric Atkinson, Jr., of Jacksonville, Fl., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral- Saturday, June 10, 2023 at 11:00am at Shady Grove AME Zion Church, 1060 Microwave Tower Rd., Clarkton, NC. Eulogy by Rev. Wendy McKoy, Pastor.

Burial- New Hope Community Cemetery, 634 Sarah Peterson Rd., Council, NC.

Viewing- Friday, June 9, 2023 from 3:00pm-5:00pm at Johnson’s Funeral Service, Elizabethtown, NC.There will be a viewing on Saturday, June 10th from 10:00am-11:00am at the church. There will be no viewing after the service. Family will receive friends at the home of Mrs. Mary Brown, 11547 Rosendale Rd., Council, NC.
