Mr. Charles “Tojo” Bethea, 56, of 1302 Elm St., Lumberton, NC formerly of Dublin, NC transitioned on Sunday, January 19, 2025 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton, NC.
Survivors- his wife, Marlinda Platt Bethea of the home, his mother, Pearline Bethea Purdie of Dublin, NC, his father, David Troy, his stepfather, Leroy Purdie, one brother, Dennis Burden, one step daughter, Carlena Platt Smith(Franklin Smith Sr.,) 5 grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Funeral- Sunday, January 26, 2025 at 1:00pm at Willie E. Johnson Memorial Chapel on the facility of Johnson’s Funeral Service, 207 S. Pine St., Elizabethtown, NC. Eulogy by Overseer Lonnice Graham, Pastor of Dublin Highway Holiness Church, Dublin, NC.
Burial- Lesane Cemetery, Dublin, NC.
