Mr. Ervin J. Smith Jr., 74, of 605 Mercer Mill Rd., Elizabethtown, NC, died Saturday, January 12, 2019 in Duke Regional Hospital in Durham, NC.

Survivors: his wife, Francine Smith of the home; three daughters, Janet Smith of Waterbury, CT, Bridgett Osbourne of Bronx, NY and Kimberly Owens of Waterbury, CT; two sons, Levon Smith of Yonkers, NY and Shawn Smith of Waterbury, CT; three stepdaughters, Rev. Sherry Harvey of Lisbon, NC, Rosa Harvey of Decatur, GA and Ann Monroe of Lisbon, NC; one brother, Tony Smith of Lisbon, NC; five sisters, Mary Alice Ford of Lisbon, NC, Katherine McMillian of Springfield, NJ, Judy Safi of Scotch Plains, NJ, Laurice Mitchell' Barlow of Fayetteville, NC, Lonice Watts of Brooklyn, NY and Lisa Smith of Lisbon, NC; twenty-four grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Visitation: Family will receive friends at the home

Funeral: Friday, January 18, 2019, at 2pm, at New Hope Baptist Church, 1604 White Plains Church Rd., Clarkton, North Carolina 28433; eulogy by Pastor Charles Marsh Jr.; officiating by Pastor Andrew Pabon.

Viewing: Thursday, January 17, 2019, from 2pm-5pm, at Johnson's Funeral Service, Inc., 207 S. Pine St., Elizabethtown, NC.
